A companion mod from the Radiocraft team: local storms that move across the world, wind, hail, tornadoes and hurricanes, all forecast ahead of time. Radiocraft runs without it, but its weather gear has much more to report with it.
Another Weather Mod (AWM) replaces
Minecraft's world-wide rain with weather that happens in places. Storm cells form, drift on a prevailing wind and die
away: it rains where a storm is and nowhere else. It is open source (MIT licensed) and developed alongside
Radiocraft, on GitHub.
Storms from 0 to 5: rainstorms, thunderstorms, strong and severe thunderstorms
(which strip leaves and blow doors open), hailstorms, and supercells that put down tornadoes (EF0 to EF5).
Hurricanes over the ocean, category 0 to 5, rotating round a calm eye.
Wind that pushes players, mobs and items about, plus dense fog, heat waves, cold snaps,
blizzards and sandstorms, depending on where you are.
Day types: each region has dry days, days with a chance of rain and rainy days, with
tornado watches on the worst of them.
Exact forecasts: storms are decided ahead of time, so a forecast or a radar chart is
always right.
Without AWM, Radiocraft reads vanilla
weather: rain or thunder everywhere at once, and no wind. With AWM installed, Radiocraft reads the local weather
instead:
The Weather Station reports real wind and gusts, temperature,
humidity, pressure and rainfall where it stands, and any APRS H19 within 64 blocks sends that in its beacons.
The WEFAX receiver prints radar charts, forecasts and surface analyses of
the actual storms, and in AUTO mode prints a warning when dangerous weather is coming, with a redstone signal for a
severe thunderstorm, a tornado (or watch) or a hurricane.
Strong winds (over 33 m/s) can blow antenna parts and wire holders down. Build with the weather in mind.
Rain halves a solar panel's output where it falls, and severe weather halves it again.
Download
anotherweathermod-neoforge-1.21.1-<version>.jar from
AWM's GitHub Releases (under Assets). Its version numbers follow Radiocraft's:
use the AWM release with the same number as your Radiocraft, or the newest.
Put it in the mods folder beside Radiocraft, on the server and on each player's game. See
Installing the Mod.
On a server, AWM also works with players who do not have it: they see the local rain and thunder, but not AWM's
clouds, wind streaks or other effects.
Shader packs (Iris, Oculus): AWM's client config has a shader compatibility section for its clouds, rain and fog.
Server:
serverconfig/anotherweathermod-server.toml in each world sets how much weather there is, the mix of
storms, hurricanes, lightning, hail and wind damage, and doors blowing open. The doWindDamage game rule turns
wind damage off.
Each player: the config screen in the mod list (or
config/anotherweathermod-client.toml) sets particle quality and turns each effect on or off.
/weather rain and /weather thunder still work, as a world-wide override for their
duration.
